150 reasons to support the WCA

The WCA saves hundreds of lives each year. It is the go-to place for anyone in the Omaha area who is experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking or stalking. On average, we work with 150 people a day through walk-in clients, support groups, classes and our 24/7 hotline. Our free high-quality services address our clients’ immediate safety needs and help them to grow into independence over time.

Physical safety concerns, emotional trauma, and financial insecurity can often keep victims from reaching out for the help they need. Our work focuses on meeting clients where they are and offering on-going emotional support. Wherever you are in your journey, we are here to walk with you.

We Provide All These Services Under One Roof!

  • Family law
  • Immigration support

The WCA is here to help anyone who has been impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking or stalking. Beyond helping people connect with the WCA for help, here are some things you can do to help a loved one who might be experiencing abuse.

Use positive language

  • It was brave of you to share this with me
  • Thank you for trusting me

Validate their experience

  • You do not deserve this
  • I’m sorry this is happening in your life

Stand by a survivor

  • Be patient; go at their pace – not yours
  • Listen
  • Offer to contact the WCA with the survivor for more resources
